NGRI faces IICT Hyderabad in Badminton final

JAMMU: The NGRI Hyderabad shall be playing against IICT Hyderabad in the final of badminton team event in the ongoing 46th Zonal Shanti Swaroop Bhatnagar Memorial Tournament hosted by IIIM Jammu at Police Indoor Hall, here on Friday.
Earlier, in the semifinals, NGRI Hyderabad defeated SERC Chennai 2-0. The Results: Amit Bansal beat S Eshwaran 21-07, 21-02; Amit and Prahlad defeated R Sriraman and S Eshwaran 21-08, 21-07.
In other semifinal, IICT Hyderabad outplayed CMERI Durgapur 2-0: The Results: Ravi Kiran outplayed P Saha 21-10, 21-11; Ravi Kiran and Srinivasan trounced P Saha and O.P Yadav 21-08, 21-14.
Meanwhile, in men’s singles event, Amit Bansal of NGRI Hyderabad has reached the final defeating R Sriraman of CERC Chennai 21-03, 21-06. In other semifinal, O.P Yadav of CMERI Durgapur has been pitted against Ravi Kiran of IICT Hyderabad.
TABLE TENNIS: Meanwhile, in table tennis team event, NISTADS Delhi shall take on IICT Hyderabad in the final tomorrow. Earlier, in the semifinals, played today, NISTADS Delhi beat CECRI Karaikudi while IICT Hyderabad trounced CSMCRI Bhavnagar.
In men’s singles event, L Pulamte of NISTADS has been pitted against K.K Krishanadan of NIIST Thiruvanthampuram. Earlier, in the semifinals, L Pulante beat S K Rao of IICT Hyderabad 11-04, 11-01, 11-02 while K K Krishanand trounced G Ashok Kumar of NGRI Hyderabad 09-11, 11-08, 13-11, 07-11, 11-09.
