KATRA: Two-day Workshop-cum-District Reasi Yoga Championship, organised by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) started today at Multipurpose Hall of Sports Stadium, here.
The event was declared open by Additional Chief Executive Officer of SMVDSB, Dr M.K Kumar. In all, 86 boys and girls drawn from 16 government and private educational institutions of the district are participating.
Earlier, Director Sports of SMVDSB, Ashok Kumar presented a detailed report of the event. He also spoke in length about various initiatives undertaken by the board for promotion of sports among the youth of Reasi District, especially from holy town of Katra.
On the opening day, Yoga experts, Rajesh Bandral and Dayal Ram imparted training among the participants.
Among those present were Rajinder Singh, OSD (Revenue), Principals, Headmasters and teachers of the participating educational institutions.
