Team Jammu, YRS release Varsha Jamwal’s album ‘King Rajput Maharaja Hari Singh’

JAMMU: Appreciating the contribution of Dogra artists including writers, lyricists, music composers and actors in carrying forward the Dogra legacy to the younger generation, Chairman Team Jammu, Zorawar Singh Jamwal along with chief patron of Yuva Rajput Sabha (YRS), Rajinder Manhas on Saturday released new Dogri-Punjabi album “King Rajput Maharaja Hari Singh” sung by budding singer Varsha Jamwal and Sunny Salaria, here at Maharaja Hari Singh Park. Former President, YRS, Rajveer Singh, Sr Vice President, YRS, Mandeep Singh Chib, Vice-President, Vishal Singh, Yashvir Singh Jasrotia, Mohan Singh Chib, Narinder Singh, Maheshwar Singh and Manish Singh were special guests in the occasion.
While interacting with media person during the release ceremony, Chairman Team Jammu said “this is the need of the hour that every Dogra belonging to any religion, caste or creed must ensure that the younger generation knows mother tongue Dogri. If we will forget our mother tongue, we will move miles away from our culture and ethos that will finally end up of our vast and glorious history.” While appreciating Lieutenant Governor, J&K UT, Manoj Sinha for declaring September 23, the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh as holiday, Team Jammu chief said that “this new album of budding singer who is popularly known as Jammu Di Kudi, Varsha Jamwal is another tribute to last Dogra ruler of J&K. He also lauded the role of musician Sahil Nath, Director K K Malhotra, Assistant Director Prerna, Sharma, DOP Danish Mir for their collective effort in making such a scintillating Dogri-Punjabi album that would definitely hit the stands. Team Jammu chief Zorawar Singh Jamwal also pointed out that “It is apathy of successive governments that Dogri folk, music as well as artists were never given a proper platform to rise and show their talent to the nation as well as world. But hats off to the Dogra, writers, singers and artists that despite all odds they through their tireless efforts have made a mark in promoting the local folk.” Chief Patron, YRS, Rajinder Manhas in his address said that “Let all Jammuites make joint effort to promote our culture, heritage as well as stories of Dogra warriors by promoting our own Dogra artists and writers by making right use of social media like Facebook and Whats app. He assured them that YRS will promote young and budding Dogra artists so that Dogra folk and retain its pristine glory.
Varsha Jamwal appealed to music lovers especially Jammuites to promote her new album King Rajput Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, as it is not just an entertainment album a tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh who gave us Indian nationality and made big social reforms for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
