Govt constitutes Divisional, District Level Task Forces for safety of bridges

JAMMU: The government on Tuesday constituted Divisional and District Level Task Forces for taking urgent measures for safety of bridges and removal of accumulated materials.
“Sanction is accorded to constitution of the Divisional and District Level Task Force(s) for taking urgent measures for safety of bridges and removal of accumulated material due to heavy rains, on an urgent basis,” reads an order issued by Dr. Piyush Singla, Secretary, General Administration Department.
As per order, Divisional Level Task Force has been led by Divisional Commissioner, Kashmir/ Jammu as Chairman while Chief Engineer, PW (R&B) Kashmir / Jammu will be its Member Secretary and Chief Engineer, I&FC Kashmir / Jammu will be its Members.
District Level Task Force has been led by Deputy Commissioner concerned as Chairman whereas Executive Engineer, PW (R&B), concerned will be its Member Secretary and Assistant Commissioner Revenue /Sub-Divisional Magistrate concerned; Executive Engineer, I&FC, concerned; District Mineral Officers concerned; and Project Directors of concerned Executing Agencies will be its Members.
“Terms of reference of the both Task Forces is to examine threat to safety of bridges due to the flash-flood during rainy seasons on account of accumulation of huge loads of river borne material; and to ensure scientific removal of such material in a time bound manner,” it added.
