Jammu: A sixteen-year-old girl who was kidnapped outside her residence has been rescued, and her four captors, including a Naib Sarpanch, were arrested from Janipur area here, police said on Friday.
The teenager hailing from Kotli Shah Daula area in R S Pura sector was abducted in a vehicle by four persons, including the Naib Sarpanch Jagdish Raj and a woman identified as Raj Kumari, a few days ago near her residence, a police officer said.
Acting on specific information, the police team conducted a raid in Janipur area of Jammu city on Thursday and rescued the kidnapped girl, he said. The four accused were arrested and the vehicle used in the kidnapping of the girl was also seized, the officer said. The other two accused persons have been identified as Payara Lal and Shabir Ahmed, he added.
