India stuns Bahrain to enter Asian Men’s U-20 Volleyball C’ship 2022 semifinals

JAMMU: India produced a fine display to overcome the Bahrain hurdle to enter the semifinals of the 21st Asian Men’s U-20 Volleyball Championship being held at Riffa, Bahrain, on Saturday.
Led by Dushyant Singh, India beat Bahrain 3-1 (25-22, 25-19, 26-28, 26-24) in a rather convincing manner to make the semis.
Dushyant Singh (Captain), Aman Kumar, Sameer Chaudhary, Ajeet Sheeko and Sachin Dagar played tremendously and other players also well coordinated for this admirable win. It was remarkable win by the players of the Indian team.
Earlier, India lost to defending champion Iran in straight sets 25-20, 25-10, 25-19 at 21st Asian Men’s U20 Volleyball Championship. Iran finished on top of Pool B, with India in second place.
In the campaign opener, India thumped three time winner Japan 3-1 (19-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-23).
The team will face the winner of China and Thailand match in semi-final on August 28 at 7:30 pm.
Prof. (Dr.) Achyuta Samanta, Member of Parliament & President VFI, Ramavtar Singh Jakhar-Executive Vice President-CZ, AVC and Anil Choudhary, Secretary General, and all the executive committee of the Volleyball Federation of India congratulated to all the players and coaches for their commendable performance.
Meanwhile, Patron-in-Chief, Volleyball Association of Jammu and Kashmir, Raj Daluja; President, Sidharth Daluja; Chief Executive Officer, Kuldeep Magotra; General, Secretary, V K Magotra; Treasurer, R C Sharma; Executive Vice President, H S Gill, Joint Secretary Mohd Tariq and other office bearers of VAJK have also congratulated Indian team for reaching in semifinal stage and wished for winning gold medal in the championship.
