Pensioners flay Govt for not releasing pending DA

JAMMU: State Pensioners Association criticised the government for not releasing pending DA at six per cent from July 2015 to till date.
In this regard, a meeting of State Pensioners Association was held here on Monday under the chairmanship of Madan Lal Abrol, General Secretary of the Association.
Abrol said that the medical allowance has not been increased for the last 16 years as the pensioners are getting only Rs 300 per month.
He appealed to the Governor N.N Vohra to increase the medical allowance at least Rs 1,000 per month.
He mentioned that the quantum pension has not been introduced in the Sixth Pay Commission by the State Government but the Centre has given this benefit at the age of 80, 85, 90, 95 years and above at 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 per cent to the pensioners.
The association appealed to the Governor to introduce the same for the State pensioners of the State.
Others who spoke in the meeting include Yash Pal Sanson, Des Raj Sharma, Mohammad Shafi, Mohammad Rafiq, Harbans Singh, Bushan Pargal, Raj Kumar Basnathia and Som Nath Bhagat.
