GD Goenka celebrates World Judo Day

JAMMU: World Judo Day was celebrated for the first time on Tuesday in the lush green lawns of GD Goenka Public School, Jammu to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of the founder of Judo, Prof Jigoro Kano.
The programme started with the arrival of the Chief Guest Vikas Gupta-The Joint Secretary of Judo Federation and Secretary of J and K Judo Association, Director Sanya Bansal and The Principal, Dr. R.P Singh.
The other guests who honoured the occasion were Sooraj Bhan Singh- Chief Judo Coach J and K, Ritika Salathia and Jugal Kishore-J and K Judo Coach.
The programme was a real treat to watch young judokas, both boys and girls exhibiting a great show of strength.
It was a demonstration of self defence where the judokas implied not only the techniques learned but also their intellect, the spontaneity of the body.
The judokas exemplary demonstration exhibited their fit and healthy body, mind and their agility which was at its highest.
The Principal, Dr. R.P Singh congratulated the Judo Coach Bhanu Pratap, an awardee of Sher-e- Kashmir by the J and K Judo Federation and also and an International Judoka.
