Impressive procession taken out in Jammu on Ashoora

JAMMU: An impressive procession of 10th Moharram (Ashoora) was tomorrow taken out in old city from Ziyarat Peer Mitha under banner of Anjuman-e-Imamia, Jammu on Tuesday, which was attended by a number of mourners from different regions of J&K, to pay homage to the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, grandson of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad. After passing through traditional route, the procession culminated at Karbala complex Wazarat road. Earlier, a brief Majlis was delivered by Moulana Syed Ghulam Hussain Rizvi from Iran Cultural House. In his address he stressed on the teachings of Imam Hussain and highlighted why it is important to follow the path of Karbala. He also delivered Majlis Sham-e-Ghariban. A procession was also taken out from New Plots by Anjuman-e-Haidery under patronage of Shakeel Karbalai, which got merged into main procession at Imam Bargah Sofi Shah Peer Mitha. Pertinent to mention here that on this day, Imam Hussain and his 72 companions laid their lives and saved humanity and the values of Islam, battling against tyranny of Yazid, the ruler and Caliph of Muslim Ummah at that time.
While addressing media, President of Anjumam-e-Imamia Jammu, Syed Amanat Shah said that it is our duty to spread message of Imam Hussain that one should never bend in front of oppressor and always stand firm against tyrant. “Ashoora gives a message to entire humanity that we should stand firm against the oppressor and never forego our responsibilities even though we need to sacrifice our self for the cause,” he added.
Prof Sujat Khan Secretary, Anjumam-e-Imamia, Jammu while speaking to media quoted that Karbala was not a battle between individuals, but was a battle of ideologies. He further added that Rebar-e-Moazam Syed Ali Khamaenei quoted, “If we understand this event (Ashoora) to be a great event in history, and we place value upon it, this is because the remembrance of this event helps us to progress, to move forward, to follow pointed path of Imam Hussain.”
Vice President Anjuman-e-Imamia Syed Afaq Hussain Kazmi said that the battle of Karbala is the only battle in the history in which the blood got success over the sword. He further added that we should propagate the teachings of Imam Hussain, if we want to succeed in our future endeavors.
While delivering formal vote of thanks, Syes ayaz Naqvi Joint Secretary Anjuman said, “We are thankful to all organizations for extending their full cooperation and support during the procession by installing different stalls of refreshment for mourners. We also extend thanks to Anjuman-e-Haidery, Anjumn-e-Hussaini, Kargil Colony Bathindi, All Ladakh Muslim Students Association Jammu (ALMSAJ), volunteers of Shaheed Muttahiri Library New Plots, administration of MESWL and residents of Poonch, Rajouri, Gursai, Surankote, Mandi, Chanderkot and Kashmir for showing exemplary discipline during the procession.”
Anjuman-e-Imamia expressed gratitude towards former Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP Leaders Yudhvir Sethi & Devinder Rana, Spokesperson BJP Dr Tahir Hussain, President Dogra Sadar Sabha Gulchain Singh Charak and all other religious and social organizations for their presence and support during the procession.
