JAMMU: Paying tributes to former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Patron of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, PDP leader Abdul Hamid Choudhary on Saturday said that the party, state and country have lost a statesman, great politician and a visionary who always stood for right and worked towards dawning peace in the state especially in entire sub-continent. In his death the party has suffered an irreparable loss, he added.
In a meeting held here, Choudhary Hamid said the programmes and policies of Mufti Sayeed will be carried forward in full spirit and every effort will be made to realise his dreams wherein he wanted peace in the entire sub-continent and justice for all. His period of governance from 2002 to 2005 and 2015 to 2016 January will always be remembered as an era of good governance, transparency, accountability and like that of a bridge between all three regions of the State.
Conveying condolence to the bereaved family and party colleagues, the speakers prayed for peace to the departed soul. They said that it was Mufti Mohammad Sayeed who made the country switchover to ‘Policy of Talks’ and it was again he who steered the State out of political turmoil by floating PDP when people were in dire need of a viable alternative. The state under his dynamic leadership was progressing by leaps and bounds but his sudden demise has left a void.
Hamid while praying for courage to the family and party colleagues resolved to take the dreams and aspirations of Mufti Sayeed forward with same will and ability that was once displayed by Sayeed as a statesman, leader, politician and a great human being.
