POONCH: BSF 62 Battalion on Monday celebrated its 28th Raising Day at village Uchhad, Tehsil Mendhar.
Besides games and others activities, a cultural programme was also organised on this day by the children of various schools. Prizes were distributed among the winner including Mohammad Akram who stood first, Subham who stood second and Manir Ahmad who secured third position.
The BSF also conducted a Medical Camp on this day in which hundreds of locals with different ailments were checked up and given free medicines.
Citizens welcome new SSP

POONCH: Prominent citizens, social activists and political leaders of Poonch held a meeting in Dak Bungalow Poonch on Monday in which the participants welcomed the newly posted SSP J.S Johar and assured him of their full cooperation. Besides SSP J. S Johar, Addl SP Amit Gupta, Dy SP (DAR) Khalid Mir and SHO Poonch were also present on the occasion.
The participants including Sanatan Dharam Sabha, President Satish Sasan, President Jamia Masjid Moulana Farooq Misbai, President All India Sikh Students Federation Harcharan Singh, President District Congress Committee Advocate Rajinder Singh, Advocate Iftkhar Bazmi, Advocate Mohammad Zaman, CEO (Retd) K.K Kapoor, District Sports Officer (Retd) Rajinder Singh, Taj Mir and Ravinder Kumar Bitta said that Poonch district is known for its communal harmony and brotherhood. They assured wholehearted support and cooperation in the forthcoming Assembly election for maintaining peace, tranquility and fairness.
