RAMBAN: For ensuring smooth conduct, of Assembly elections in all the constituencies of district Ramban, District Election Officer Ramban Farooq Shah Bukhari convened a high level meeting with representatives of different political parties of the district at DC office Complex Ramban on Monday .
In the meeting DEO discussed various issues related with the election campaign being made by the different parties in the district. DEO asked the political parties to follow the guidelines issued by the Election Commissioner of India with regard to holding of public meetings, processions, use of roads/ paths during processions and all other issues enumerated in the MCC document. DEO disclosed that any deviation with the MCC on behalf of any political party shall be viewed seriously. It will be pertinent to mention here that as per the guidelines of ECI, the district election officer has already instituted stationary and mobile surveillance teams equipped with cameras for checking violations of MCC in the entire district. All the instructions specified in the MCC were read before the political representatives and various issues related to registration of left out voters, modifications in the names, EPIC and shifting of polling stations were discussed in detail.
All the representatives of political parties assured DEO of full co-operation during the period of elections especially for unbiased, hassle free and smooth conduct of elections so that maximum people can participate in this historical democratic process. The political parties were handed over a copy of the MCC.
