Wrestling Association gets new faces

JAMMU: Wrestling Association of Jammu and Kashmir on Sunday unanimously elected quite new faces to the top positions of the sports body in an election meeting held here.
While Basu Dev of Wrestling Club Baspur in R S Pura has replaced Dushyant Sharma as president, Ajay Vaid has been replaced by Jai Bharat as general secretary of the Association. Senior most wrestling coach of the UT, Om Parkash of Wrestling Club Akhnoor has been made treasurer.
However, outgoing general secretary, Ajay Vaid has been elevated to the post of senior vice president and Kuldeep Sharma of District Association Reasi made vice president. Swaran Lal from Dewan Mandir Akhara has been made joint secretary.
In the election meeting, Jagdish Kumar was observer from Wrestling Federation of India while Ashok Singh represented J&K Sports Council. Veteran sports administrator, Kuldeep Singh Jamwal was observer from J&K Olympic Asssociation.
Meanwhile, outgoing president Wrestling Association of J&K, Dushyant Sharma congratulated all the new office bearers and wished them a successful tenure at different position.
“I look forward to good times for the game of Wrestling in J&K under the guidance of new team of office bearers,” said Dushyant Sharma.
