Manohar laments BJP over its failure to curb militancy

JAMMU: Senior Congress Leader and PCC General Secretary, Dr Manohar Lal Sharma Monday expressed deep shock over the martyrdom of seven soldiers including a Lt-Colonel rank officer in the recent militant attack at Air Force base at Pathankot. Dr Sharma strongly condemned this cowardly incident of militants which took away seven valuable lives.
Dr Sharma said very few lessons have been learnt. Referring to the tenure of Atal Behari Vajpayee, Sharma said when he was travelling to Lahore with a peace mission Nawaz Sharief and Pakistan government gifted us with Kargil like war. After that we tried to make good and peaceful relation with Pakistan and we again faced the trauma of dealing with highjacking of Indian Airlines flight IC 814 from Nepal to Kandhar (Afghanistan) and Vajpayee government was forced to release most dreaded militant Azhar Masood and his associates from jail and taken to Kandhar by then foreign Affairs Minister Jaswant singh.
Dr. Sharma said that it is pertinent to take in account while dealing to curb militants and antinational activities the release of Azhar Masood who happened the chief of Jaish-e-Mohammad militant outfit was right or wrong in the national interest.
Dr Sharma said that Modi and BJP always accused congress and advised Dr. Manmohan Singh for not sending love letters to Pakistan , now they must come forward and tell the nation where Modi and his associates stand now?
