152 new COVID cases reported in J&K; 6 in Ladakh

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 152 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, taking the infection tally in the union territory to 4,57,184, officials said here.
While 85 cases were reported from the Jammu division, 67 cases were reported from the Kashmir valley.
After one death due to the disease in the last 24 hours, the total fatalities have increased to 4,759, they said.
Presently, there are 1,140 active cases in the union territory, whereas the number of recoveries has reached 4,51,285 they said.
The officials said there were 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in Jammu and Kashmir. Meanwhile, Ladakh has reported six new COVIDcases, raising its tally to 28,635, officials said.
All the positive cases were recorded from Leh district.
So far, 228 people have succumbed to COVID-19 in Ladakh. Of these, 168 deaths have taken place in Leh and 60 in Kargil, the officials said.
They said the number of active cases has risen to 66 in the union territory Ladakh — all in Leh. Eight more patients were cured of the disease, and the total number of recoveries stands at 28,341, the officials said. As many as 2,430 passengers were screened at the Leh airport, 456 passengers including the drivers and helpers of trucks, light motor vehicles at Khaltse, and 156 people at Upshi check-point for the virus, they said.
