SRINAGAR: Record around 900 participation witnessed in the District Kulgam Wushu Championship which was organised the district association under the aegis of Wushu Association of J&K at Sports Stadium, Kulgam, here.
The four-day event mobilised participants from schools, colleges and affiliated clubs. Those winners of different age and weight groups were presented the medals by Principal of the school and Manger of J&K Sports Council, who were special guests.
Meanwhile, Dronacharya Kuldeep Handoo, on behalf of the Association, appreciated the District Secretary Kulgam, Syed Muzamil for the organised district meet and thanked the parents and heads of the educational institutions for allowing youngsters to take up the game of Wushu in a big way.
He lauded the support extended by the Sports Council in the promotion of Wushu sport every nook and corner of the UT J&K.
The Wushu Association of J&K, in the meantime, has organised such events at five districts, including four in Kashmir Division.
