BUDGAM: Excise Range Central Kashmir on Sunday organised anti-drug inter departmental event, as a mark of observation of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mohotsav, at Model Higher Secondary School, Chadoora, here.
The event was held under the guidance of Pankaj Sharma Excise Commissioner and the supervision of Tahir Ajaz, Deputy Excise Commissioner (Exe) Kashmir.
The participants highlighted the abuse and effects of drugs on society. School children highlighted the menace at their level and experts put the medical and educational perspective and religious scholars elaborated about every religion has forbidden the usage of any sedative substance.
Local police described the punitive punishments.
The cultural programme, skits and Nukkad Nataks highlighting the effects of drug menace were presented by NGO Loul Cultural Forum, Budgam.
The event was attended by every representatives including PRIs with the motive keep narcotic users at bay from such menace.
