JAMMU: Wrestler Dillar Khan of J&K Police (JKP) lifted 45th Annual Muttal Dangal title beating Tinku of Rohtak (Haryana) in the main bout at Village Muttal in Tehsil and district Udhampur.
The event was organized by Muttal Dangal Committee in association with J&K Indian Stylel Wrestling Association under the supervision of Makhan Lal, Sarpanch (chairman), Sukhdev Singh, Naib Sarpanch (vice chairman), Chuni Lal (general secretary) and Retd. ZEO Channay Ram (coordinator).
President J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association and former Joint Secretary of J&K Sports Council (JKSC), Shiv Kumar Sharma was the chief guest, who gave away cash prizes to the winners and runners-up wrestlers in the presence of Sarpanch Panchyat Jangal Gali, Sarpanch Ladda Des Raj and Captain (Retd) Hans Raj.
The winners of the main bout awarded with a cash of Rs. 7,000 while runners-up Tinku got Rs. 5,000. The second main bout clinched by Vikas of Delhi, who defeated Teg Singh of Narkote (Reasi), while third bout went to Chandi of Kohlapur (Maharashtra) beating Jagdev Singh of Narkote (Reasi).
In fourth bout, Anil of Dangakote trounced Sanjay of Delhi and Subash Chander of Reasi won the fifth bout outplaying Ravan of Rohtak. The sixth bout went to Subash Cander of Choprashop, who downed Sudesh of Delhi.
The bouts officiated by Sunny Sharma, Munshi Ram, Vijay Kumar, Romesh Chander, Krishan Singh, Om Parkash Verma, Kuldeep Sharma and Pankaj Kumar.
Members of the organizing committee included Makhan Lal, Sukhdev Singh,), Chuni Lal, Channay Ram, Rakesh Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Darshan Singh, Munshi
Ram, Yousaf Master, Krishan Kumar, Dewan Chand and Bag Hussain.
Proceedings of the Dangal conducted Rakesh Kumar while Channay Ram presented vote of thanks.
Chief guest also honoured a prominent social activist and retired ZEO Channay Ram and Hari Chand Mistri (age 85 years old senior most person of village Muttal).
In total, 56 bouts decided in this Dangal and and expenditure of Rs 1,10,000 incurred on conduct of this day-long wrestling event.
