Our fight is against wrong policies of BJP: Tara Chand
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Deputy Chief Minister J&K and Senior Congress leader Tara Chand today held a workers’ meeting at Chak Malal in Khour in view of ensuing DDC Elections. “Congress with an open heart is going to put up its best candidates for upcoming DDC elections to fight the wrong and unconstitutional policies of BJP which has left people of Jammu & Kashmir unhappy,” Tara Chand said. BJP has taken a vow to finish identity of Jammu & Kashmir through ‘unconstitutional and undemocratic’ moves like abrogation of special status, introduction of new land laws and bifurcation of the erstwhile State into union territories, the Congress leader alleged. Tara Chand asked workers to reach out to the masses at large. He also appealed to the people to vote in the upcoming elections and said, “People are politically mature and they will use this opportunity”.
Congress will put forth the best of its candidates who are pro-people, he said, adding that it was his party which introduced three-tier Panchayati Raj in the country. He further asked that if situation is conducive for elections to urban local bodies and DDCs, then why assembly polls can’t be held to provide an elected government to people.
