9 gamblers nabbed, 5,400 stake money recovered
NAGROTA: Police on Tuesday arrested nine gamblers in two different raids and recovered Rs 5,400 as stake money from the gambling spot.
According to a report, on a specific information, a party of Police Station Nagrota conducted a raid at Lane No 20 Jagti Migrant Camp and arrested five gamblers identified as Shubhan Ji Koul son Pushkar Nath, Rajinder Kumar son of Mohan Lal, Sameer Ji Dhar son of Kanshi Nath, Sanjay Kumar son of Govind Ram and Satish Kumar son of Sham Lal all residents of Jagti Migrant Colony.
All accused were arrested under section 13 Gambling Act and stake money amounting Rs 2,500 and playing cards were recovered from the gambling spot.
Similarly, SHO Police Station Bahu Fort conducted a raid at Sec-1 Trikuta Nagar, Jammu and arrested four gamblers identified as Faggu Ram son of Katti Ram, Dhanu son of Ram Narayan, Ashok Kumar son of Sham Lal and Jai Kumar son of Raj Paul, all residents of Jahangir Champa, Chhattisgarh at present staying at Sec- 1 Trikuta Nagar Jammu. All accused were booked under section 13 Gambling Act. Police has recovered Rs. 2900 as stake money and playing Cards from the accused persons.
Police have registered the cases in respective police stations.
