MENDHAR: Army organised a lecture on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ at Kaneti Banola village of Mendhar in District Poonch (J&K) to create awareness about importance of education and rights of the girl child. The lecture emphasised on essential aspects of empowerment of girls and their invaluable contribution towards the society. To further motivate the attendees, they were informed about popular women from India, who have made their mark in the world today. The awareness drive also covered various women specific schemes launched by the Government. The villagers expressed their gratitude for the continuous support given by the Indian Army for motivating, guiding and educating them on various social issues.
