JAMMU: Several teams of CAPD Department headed by Assistant Directors conducted market checking of essential commodities at Roop Nagar, Bantalab, Janipur, Nagrota, Akhnoor, Khour, Bhalwal, Marh, R.S. Pura, Kathua, Rajouri, Poonch, Ramban etc.
During the drive, six samples of sweets were lifted by the Assistant Director, Samba for analysis.
During checking of commercial establishments, a fine of Rs. 71,000 was realized on spot from the defaulter traders under the provision of essential commodities Act.
The traders/commercial establishments have been warned to display the rate lists at conspicuous places besides not to overcharge and compromise with the quality of products.
