AKHNOOR: Under the direction of Sub District Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor for keeping a vigil against hoarders and black-marketeers during ongoing festive season, a team of officers conducted a surprise check of the market and realised a fine of Rs 9,600.
The team of officers comprising Naib Tehsildar Manohar Lal Sharma, Executive Officer (EO) Municipal Committee Akhnoor (MCA) Johari Lal Sharma, Food Safety Officer (MCA) Subash Chander Sharma, Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Des Raj, Khilafwarzi Inspector Kuldeep Raj and Khilafwarzi Inspector (MCA) Devinder Singh visited the market and carried out a surprise check at various sweet shops, tea-stalls, hotels, Dhabas, etc.
The team realised a fine of Rs 9,600 from the defaulting shopkeepers for making encroachment on foot paths, selling goods not fit for human consumption and violating the stipulated norms.
