SRINAGAR: Chairperson, J and K Commission for Women, Shamim Firdous on Sunday toured flood affected areas of Habba Kadal Constituency which included Kharyar, Ganpatyar, Badyar, Kralkhud, Khonakhan, Mir Mohalla, Abibuchwara and Dinmal Road Dal Gate.
The chairperson directed the revenue officials to speed up the process of assessing the damages caused to the dwelling units so that necessary financial assistance is provided to the affected and they could construct or repair their houses before the on-set of winter season.
She also directed the PHE authorities for early restoration of PHE pipelines so that safe drinking water is provided to the people. She also asked the SMC authorities for completion of construction works, besides repair and renovation of community centres in the area.
