LAC situation in control

NEW DELHI: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday slammed Rahul Gandhi over the Congress leader’s claims of Chinese intrusion during the border standoff between India and China at the Line of Actual Control (LAC), saying the situation was under control and the PLA did not enter the Indian territory.
In an exclusive interview with India Today TV, Rajnath Singh said he has cleared the government’s stand on the LAC standoff with the Chinese army. “The situation is in our control….the claims of Chinese entering Indian territory are completely baseless,” Rajnath Singh said.
Rajnath Singh also said that commander-level talks with China are underway. He said, “We don’t know when it will be resolved but we are trying”, adding that it was not in the country’s interest to disclose all the details.
“What happened from 1962 to 2013, I don’t want to say anything about it. Our forces showed great courage at LAC. It is baseless that PLA has entered our territory. After the Galwan clash, I met the soldiers. Our prime minister also met the soldiers. All I can say that no one would ever try to enter our territory,” Rajnath Singh said.
Rajnath Singh also slammed Imran Khan over his government’s decision to accord ‘provisional provincial status’ to Gilgit Baltistan, a part of Pakistan-occupied-Kashmir (PoK), saying the country is “rattled after the purge of Article 370”.
“Gilgit Baltistan and PoK belong to India. No change in their status is acceptable to us at all. Pakistan is frustrated after the purge of Article 370,” Rajnath Singh said, adding, “Pakistan and terror groups are rattled after the abrogation of Article 370. They are discouraged after Article 370 abrogation.”
Rajnath Singh also made a scathing attack on Imran Khan over the Pulwama attack. Rajnath Singh said it is Pakistan that is responsible for terrorism in J&K.
“Pakistani minister in its assembly accepted the country’s role in Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF jawans were killed. Pakistan was scared of India’s response if they don’t release fighter pilot Abhinandan Vathaman,” Rajnath Singh said. He added that FATF must blacklist Pakistan for harbouring terrorists.
