Wicked design
The hype given to Kashmir part of J and K State has created an impression in the world that the state as a whole comprises of Kashmir alone. However this vast state has three distinct regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh. These regions have three distinct cultures, languages and traditions-yet a healthy but disproportionate Indian ethnic mix of various religions.
The Pakistani ISI has been training terrorists in camps established in PoJK and pushing mercenaries and insurgents trained and armed by them in J and K and other states. There have been infiltrations from International Border at Kathua, Samba, in south and at LoC Nowshera, Poonch, Rajouri, in west to Uri, Kupwara, Gurez in North of the state.
Having failed, they resorted to direct firing on border villages targeting hamlets, killing old men, women, children and cattle alike. The initial firing killed a Gujjar but subsequent concentration of firing shifted on villages habited by Hindu and Sikhs on the International Border causing deaths among these two communities. May be, in their perception, Pakistanis felt that their targeting these communities will be more hurting to India. The Chief Minister’s repeated visits to the villages targeted by Pakistan in Kathua, Samba and RS Pura regions has more than confirmed that Madhopur to Uri J and K state is one; Kashmir to Kanya Kumari India is one. The whole nation stood firm like a rock in solidarity with targeted border population. The whole nation is pained at any death of any citizen anywhere and eager to punish the attacker’s mis-adventure with a firm military response. The only exception to it may by the Pakistani stooges on her payroll and few sub sub-regional politicians under their influence who want India to shun action and resume talks–Talks must take place only when there is congenial climate for talks and guns have silenced. India must not negotiate under durance and from weaker stands.
The Prime Minister and the Defence Minister have warned Pakistan in no uncertain terms that their adventurism will be responded forcefully. The onus to re-establish peace now rests with Pakistan to stop the wicked game started by her and to desist from such wicked mis-adventures in future since both nations can ill afford war. The silenced Pakistani guns indicate a welcome realisation.
