Omar reviews border situation at high level meeting
JAMMU: Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah who today visited various camps in Hiranagar, Samba, Bishnah and Jammu established for border migrants who have been severely hit by the shelling from across the border, this evening chaired a high level divisional officers meeting here to review the process of relief and temporary shelters being provided to the shelling affected families.
Minister for Planning, Ajay Sadhotra, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Shantmanu, IG Jammu, Rajesh Kumar Singh, various Chief Engineers and heads of the departments besides senior officers were present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister asked the officers to ensure foolproof arrangements in the temporary shelters like medical facilities, food, drinking water, electricity etc for the migrated families.
Omar said that adequate arrangements for the treatment of the injured at various Jammu hospitals should also be ensured. He said Medical College Sarai should also be made available to the attendants of relations who are under treatment in the Government Medical College Hospital.
The Chief Minister directed for constructing community bunkers in the border areas which could be utilized by the border area people in the hour of need. He also directed for establishing camps for cattle where arrangements for fodder and medical treatment be also ensured.
