JKP expects positive role of every individual in realising peaceful J&K: DGP

SRINAGAR: Eleven days Police Martyrs Sports Festival organized by J&K Police in North Kashmir’s Baramulla District concluded on Sunday.
Director General of Police Dilbag Singh was the Chief Guest at the closing ceremony held at Showkat Ali Stadium Baramulla.
IGP Kashmir, Vijay Kumar, 19 Artillery Brig. Amit Dhir, DIG North Kashmir, Mohammad Suleman Choudhary, DC Baramulla Ghulam Nabi Yatoo and other civil, police, Army, CAPF officers, martyrs families a huge number of locals were present on the occasion.
DGP reiterated the role of J&K Police in youth development and its commitment for ensuring peaceful Jammu and Kashmir.

‘Life is precious, take care of it by working in right direction’

SRINAGAR: Every one of us is responsible to make this world beautiful. This was stated by the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbag Singh who was Chief Guest at a cultural programme titled “Tawazun-2020” organized by Lehar Foundation an NGO of Jammu and Kashmir in Pahalgam on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the DGP complemented the organizers for organizing such a wonderful event.
“The most valuable humans in this world are the children and more the opportunities we provide for them especially the children of Kashmir, the more we need,” DGP said adding that children of Kashmir have seen very difficult times and added that together we can provide them with a better place and better future.
He thanked the Lehar Foundation team and other partners involved in the conduct of the programme.
The DGP said that every life is precious and we have to take care of it by working in the right direction.
He said that besides ones own life, the lives of others are precious too and taking care of each other’s lives is very important.
Right thinking, right approach and working with positive thoughts are the basic things to make our life meaningful, he added.
The DGP advised the participating children to take little steps to reach goals and keep a good balance of day to day activities.
He said positive thinking and positive approach in life is the key to a successful life. He said that no one can do miracles alone but together we can.


“J&K Police is on a mission in revolutionizing the sports in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said and added that during past month or so a number of sports events were organized across J&K. He said that in Bandipora mega sports festival alone, around 228 teams from Bandipora and other parts of valley participated in different sports categories.
He said that a positive message was sent across the country when matches were played under the lights in Ganderbal.
He appreciated the youth for acting as the messengers of peace by participating in a number of positive activities organized by Jammu and Kashmir Police.
The DGP said that it gives immense pleasure to see the increasing interest of girls in sports.
He emphasized upon the district police and civil administration to assist girls cricket players who took part in today’s exhibition match as they have great potential to perform at higher level.
The DGP said that Jammu and Kashmir during the past over three decades has witnessed enough of violence and destruction with huge loss of life and property.
He said that Jammu and Kashmir Police as the force of people is expecting the positive role of every individual particularly the youth in realizing the peaceful and prosperous J&K where our youth without any fear would follow their dreams.
He said that for internal security, integrity and sovereignty of the country a number of heroes have sacrificed their lives and added it is now our responsibility to strengthen their mission.
Later, the DGP presented a cheque of Rs 17.50 lakh to the parents of Martyr SPO Muzaffar Ahmad who sacrificed his life while on duty on August 17, 2020 at Kreeri in Baramulla.
Earlier, SSP Baramulla in his welcome address said that the event was organized in the fond memories of police martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty and was aimed to provide a platform to the young and talented youth to express themselves and engage in positive activities adding that it would contribute for their personal development. He said that the Eleven days Police Martyrs’ Sports Festival was inaugurated on 21st of October and witnessed mass participation.
He said that during the event, 59 teams participated in cricket, 34 teams in football, and ten teams in volleyball.
The SSP said that as a part of festival run for unity was organized in which 467 persons participated and added that a cultural programme was also organized in DPL, Baramulla that gave us a singing sensation in the form of Waqar.
He thanked Baramulla football and cricket associations for their support and making the festival success.
