94 zonal, sector Magistrates to oversee poll in Reasi District

REASI: In Reasi District, which is going to poll on 2nd Dec, about 94 zonal and sector Magistrates across the three Assembly constituencies have been designated to ensure free and fair polls, this was disclosed by Deputy District Election Officer Reasi-Joginder Singh Rai.
In order to enable sector and zonal Magistrates to understand their roles and responsibilities during the entire election process a one day training for them was held at Reasi under the chairmanship of District Election Officer Reasi-Shabir Ahmad Bhatt.
Addressing the participants, DEO said, “Elections are the biggest team work and training is one of the important components under ECI.”He urged all to work together to strengthen the democracy. As elections are zero- tolerance exercise, he called upon the participants to ensure that every effort is made to comply with the guidelines of ECI.
Nodal Officer Manpower and Training-Manu Hansa imparted detailed training on immediate responsibility of the sector/zonal officers for ensuring basic minimum facilities at polling stations, preparation of route maps for polling parties, reaching out to vulnerable areas and hamlets, EVM familiarisation in polling station catchments areas, supervising special enrollment camps, coordinating with officers for arrangements of logistics for polling parties; and poll day duties like mock poll, reporting the proceedings of poll on hourly basis, frequent visit to polling stations, immediate response for EVM replacement, ensuring presence of agents of polling parties and conduct of free and fair elections in the district.
The training programme was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi-Shiv Kumar Gupta, Resource Persons Parshotam Lal –Deputy Director Forest Protection Force and Pritam Kumar Lecturer GBHHS and PO DRDA-Dr Jagdish Mehra.
