9 bovines rescued, 3 smugglers held

POONCH: In a sustained drive to check the menace of bovine trade on Mughal Road, District Police Poonch foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing nine bovines from the clutches of bovine smuggler at Buffliaz Check Point on Mughal Road.
According to a report, a police party headed by SI Amrit Katoch Incharge Police Post Behramgalla, Inspr. Masoof Ahmed SHO Police Station Surankote under the supervision of J.S Johar SSP Poonch intercepted two vehicles bearing registration No. JK-11A-0985 and JK11A-0620. During search of the vehicles, police found nine bovines loaded in it.
The three bovine smuggler were arrested who were identified as Mohd Zabir son of Jamal Din resident of Gambir Mughlan, Shahzad Sharief son of Mohd Sharief resident of Khablan and Mohd Sharief son of Abdullah resident of Khablan (Manjakote-Rajouri).
A case under FIR No. 114/2015 section 188,353 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Surankote. Further investigation is going on to unearth the nexus which is being used for illegal transportation of bovine animals to the Valley via Mughal Road.
