KATHUA: Brilliant century from Gourav Tomar on Sunday guided Nikhil-Kohli (NK) XI to easy win against Balaji Cricket Club Kurukshetra in the ongoing Seventh Police Martyrs Memorial North Zone Inter Club Twenty20 Cricket Championship at Sports Stadium, here.
Earlier, batting first, Balaji Cricket Club set a target of 141 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Bunty made highest 49 runs. For NK XI, Gourav Singh emerged as most successful bowler with four wickets.
In reply, NK XI Kathua attained the goal, rather easily, courtesy superb 102 runs innings from Gourav Tomar. For his all-round performance, Gourav was obvious choice for the Man of the Match trophy and Rs 2,100 cash prize.
Meanwhile in another scheduled match, Road Safety Kathua made it an easy win against Vidhya Jain Academy Delhi.
Batting first, Vidhya Jain Academy scored 144 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Karan Choudhary scored 50-ball 59 runs hitting nine boundaries. Nazir of Road Safety XI Kashmir took three wickets. Later, Road Safety XI Kashmir easily chased the target in 16.5 overs. Shafi scored 42 runs off 35 balls with the help of one six and four hits to the fence.
Nazir of Road Safety XI Kashmir was declared Man of the Match and given away a cash prize of Rs. 2100.
