76,648 beneficiaries identified under PMAY-HFA: Dy CM

JAMMU: Deputy Chief Minister Dr Nirmal Singh on Monday said the Housing Survey Demand (HSD) in 25 cities/towns of the state has been completed in first phase under Prime Minister’s Awaas Yojna (PMAY-HFA- Urban Mission) and 76648 beneficiaries were identified for covering under Beneficiary Lead Individual House Construction Component of the scheme.
Replying to a question by Ghulam Nabi Monga in the Legislative Council, the Deputy Chief Minister said that HSD of remaining 55 towns and cities in the state would be undertaken once approval of union Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Elevation is received for which request has already been made by the state government.
Giving the breakup of beneficiaries under different categories of the scheme, Dr Singh said that besides beneficiary led constructions, 15300 would be covered under Slum Redevelopment, 24523 under Credit Linked Subsidy and 5200 under Affordable Housing Partnership taking the total number of beneficiaries to 121671.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the centre has approved six projects for four towns including Baramulla, Udhampur, Anantnag and Kathua with 480 beneficiaries/EWS households under Beneficiaries Lead Individual House Construction component of PMAY-HFA (Urban Mission). He said in this regard steps are underway to get the construction of houses for the identified beneficiaries families completed.
Legislators Naresh Kumar Gupta, Ali Mohammad Dar and Yasir Reshi raised the supplementary to the main question.
