73 bovines rescued, 3 arrested

UDHAMPUR: Police on Thursday foiled three bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 73 bovines and arresting three smugglers in Udhampur District.
According to a report, a police party of Tikri Police Post led by In-charge Police Post SI Sanjay Raina and SHO Rehambel Inspector Rakesh Jamwal laid a Naka at Tikri and intercepted three trucks (JK02T-225,JK02AC-9811 and JK02Q-5493) and rescued 73 bovines which were being smuggled to Srinagar from Jammu. Police also arrested three smugglers who were identified as Ashiq Ali son of Musa resident of Krimchi Udhampur, Istayq Ahmed son of Mohd Inbar resident of Bhatindi Jammu and Mohd. Sharif son of Mohd. Hanif resident of Nagrota Khanpur. Three different FIRs have been lodged under section 188,3 PC Act at Police Station Rehambel Udhampur.
