POONCH: With its motive to promote spirit of sports among the youth, 72 Battalion Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) organised a three-day Football Tournament which got underway at Sports Stadium, here on Friday.
A total of eight teams of the Poonch District are contending for the laurels.
The opening ceremony was presided over by Dinesh, Commandant 72 Bn CRPF. Other Officers from CRPF and sports lovers were also present. The objective of this tournament was to encourage and acknowledge the sportsmanship among the youth.
While addressing the players, Dinesh said, “The game of football holds quite significant place among all sports, for the game demands fine stamina to make it to the victory. The sole purpose of organising this event has been truly accomplished, as great zeal and enthusiasm were cheerfully observed among all teams during the event.”
R.N Chaudhary and Parvinder Kaur Deputy Commandants, Amar Singh and Suneel Assistant Commandants were also present.
