JAMMU: Showing composure and promise, the fencers from Manipur dominated day-2 proceedings and bagged twin Gold medals–one in Sabre Girls team event and another in Boys Foil team event, while Haryana won Gold medal in Girls Epee team event and Jammu & Kashmir clinched Bronze medal in Girls Sabre team event in the ongoing 68th National School Games in U-17 Boys and Girls Fencing, being organised by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, J&K, under the auspices of School Games Federation of India (SGFI) at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu here.

These Games are being held as part of the historic series of 68th National School Games being hosted by J&K on the trot in four sports disciplines including Judo, Fencing, Wushu and Football, wherein around 4000 athletes across the country are taking part.
Meanwhile, in U-17 Girls Sabre team event, Manipur clinched Gold and the medal winning quartet included Pangamban Ambika Devi, Peban Babydaina Devi, Priya Ningomban and Payal Ningomban, while the Silver medal was bagged by Haryana and the participating fencers included Anukriti Singh, Sakshi Kapoor, Arpita Pahal and Ojasvini. The Bronze medal in this event was claimed by Subhanaya Sharma, Aahana Gupta, Amadhya Vermani and Alankrita Sharma along with Antalya Jamwal, Tanishka Sharma, Harleen Kaur and Avreen Kaur Bains.
In U-17 Girls Epee team event, Haryana’s Anchal, Sanju, Vanshika and Khushi won Gold, while Shanaya Jain, Parisa Swammi, Yoshika and Swasti Jindal claimed Silver and the Bronze medal went to Karnataka’s Pavani P, Yukhtaa Siri L, Deeksha and Deeksha and Manipur’s Dibiya Ningthouham, Ningombam Jazzy Devi, Nongmeikapam Chanu Jotirika and Konsam Jenita Devi.
In U-17 Boys Foil team event, Manipur won Gold and the participating fencers were Khoisanam Rajiv, Kangabam Prithibiraj Singh, Pangamban Yoihenba Meetei and Ningthoujam Ritankumar Singh, while the Silver medal went to Maharashtra’s Chatap Kartik Ramprasad, Swaraj Uday Dongare, Jain Mayank and Abhay Kumar and the Bronze medals in this event were claimed by Dhruv Tyagi, Vishavjeet Sangwan, Adhaya and Hitejas Vijval of Haryana and J M Jenil, R Guru, M Nifin Raj and S S Akhilesh of Tamil Nadu.
The winners were felicitated by Joint Director Youth Services and Sports Jammu, Ved Prakash and Harvinder Kaur, Convener Ceremonies Committee in a simple function.
