6,000 Jammu migrants denied right to vote: Bhim

REASI: Chief Patron JKNPP Bhim Singh accused Election Commission of India (CEC) for discriminating with Hindu migrants voters camping in Talwara (Reasi) and other places which are registered in the militancy prone areas and were forced out of their homes in 1998.
NPP Supremo had made a representation and personally met CEC in Delhi to seek same right to vote for the Jammu Hindu Migrants which Election Commission has made for Kashmiri Pandit Migrants.
The Kashmiri Pandit Migrants residing outside state in Delhi, Rajasthan, Punjab etc have been given facility to vote in their respective areas outside the state. The Jammu Hindu Migrants have been denied this right. The local Deputy Commissioner, Reasi informed the representatives of Jammu migrants that there is no arrangement for the security, transportation for these Jammu Hindu migrants to visit their home villages to cast their votes.
The representative of the migrants called on Bhim Singh made in the night and protested strongly against the attitude of the state government and the election commission of India to denied their fundamental rights to cast their votes.
Bhim Singh described this act as the great shame which amounted to dire discrimination with the migrants voters only because they belong to Jammu Pradesh.
Bhim Singh urged CEC for his intervention so that the election in J and K do not appear to be a fraud on the face of it.
