6 bovine smugglers arrested, 21 bovines rescued

Samba: Police has foiled two bovine smuggling attemptsduring the early morning hours in the jurisdiction of Police Station Ghagwaland Police Station Samba, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued eight bovine from the clutches of bovine smugglers.
A police party of Police Post Goran headed by Incharge Police Post Goran has successfully foiled bovine smuggling attempt, arrested two bovine smugglers and rescued six bovines which were being smuggled by foot via DhaloteKhad.
The arrested bovine smugglers have been identified as Janid Ali, son of Mohd Hussain, resident of Plai tehsil & district Samba and Muneer Ahmed, son of Gugar Din, resident of Ramkote tehsil Ramkote district Kathua.
A case FIR No. 154/2024 u/s 188 IPC has been registered at Police Station Samba and investigation started.
Similarly, a Police team of Police Station Ghagwal headed by SHO PS Ghagwal while performing vehicle checking duty at naka established at main chowk Ghagwal, intercepted a Mahindra Pickup bearing registration No. jk02DD/5314coming via border road for checking. During checking of the vehicle, two bovines were found laden inside which were tied in a cruel manner and were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
A case FIR No. 84/2024 u/s 188 IPC, 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
Police Post Dhansal successfully foiled an attempt at bovine smuggling in the Lapri Top area. Acting on a tip-off from a reliable source, the police received information that some individuals were transporting bovine animals on foot from Lapri Top towards Kashmir for illegal sale.
Upon receiving this crucial information, a police team was immediately dispatched to the location. The police party arrived promptly and apprehended two individuals involved in the smuggling operation. The suspects were identified as Mohd Nazir, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Khandihar, Tehsil Katra, District Reasi, and Parviaz Ahmed, son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Dugga, Tehsil Arnas, District Reasi.
The suspects were found in possession of five bovine animals, which they were transporting without any valid permission from the concerned authorities. The police have taken the animals into custody and are conducting further investigations to ascertain the full extent of the smuggling operation.

On this, Case FIR No. 44/2024 U/S 188 IPC 11 (1) PCA Act stands registered at P/S Arnas and investigation initiated to unearth the forward and backward linkages.

Acting on a reliable tip-off, the police received information that bovine smugglers were transporting animals on foot from Lapri Top towards Kashmir for illicit sale.
Promptly responding to the information, the police team reached the spot and apprehended two individuals involved in the smuggling operation. The suspects have been identified as Zakir Hussain, son of Gulam Mohd, resident of Dheeda, Gool, District Ramban, and Mohd Rafi, son of Ali Mohd, resident of Khallah, Dehdah, District Ramban.
The suspects were found transporting eight bovine animals without any valid permission from the concerned authorities. The police have taken the animals into custody and are conducting further investigations to uncover more details about the smuggling network.
