553rd Prakash Purab of Guru Nanak Dev celebrated with devotion & enthusiasm

JAMMU: 553rd Prakash Purab (Birth Anniversary) of Guru Nanak Sahib was celebrated on Tuesday by entire Sikh community and other followers of Guru Nanak with great devotion and enthusiasm. The main programme (Gurmat Samagam) was organised by District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu at Gurdwara Yadgar Guru Nanak, Chand Nagar, Jammu from 10 AM to 4 PM, which was attended by a large number of devotees.
On the occasion Bhai Sukhwinder Singh Dadehar, Sikh Preacher of Gurmat Gian Missionary College, Ludhiana highlighted message of Guru Nanak. He said that Guru Nanak traveled extensively to spread the message of peace and love for entire humanity and stressed for being selfless. Bhai Vikramjeet Singh, Preacher, Gurmat Gian Missionary College, Ludhiana also threw light on the teachings and life history of Guru Nanak. Similarly Bhai Anokh Singh, Hazoori Ragi, Gurdwara Baba Budda Sahib Amritsar, Bhai Jugraj Singh Hazoori Ragi along with local Ragi Jathas of DGPC Jammu recited Shabad Kirtan. Different stalls of various preaching organisations and health department were also installed in premises of Gurdwara Sahib and Guru Ka Langer was served all day. Stage was conducted by Surjeet Singh, General Secretary, DGPC Jammu and Ranjit Singh, President DGPC also addressed the gathering.
Ramesh Kumar Div Com Jammu, Anvy Lavasa DC Jammu, Rahul Yadav Commissioner JMC, Mukesh Singh ADGP Jammu, Chandan Kohli SSP Jammu, Harvinder Singh ADC (L&O), Kulbir Honda SP City, Narinder Singh Bali, Dr Vinod Kumar Health Officer JMC and Kulbushan Khajuria also attended the function. Prominent among those who paid obeisance included BJP J&K President Ravinder Raina, Yudhvir Sethi, Adv Purnima Sharma, Rattan Lal Gupta and Bashir Ahmad. All DGPC office bearers and members including Balvinder Singh Vice President Ranvir Singh Joint Secretary, Jagpal Singh Cashier, Harjeet Singh & Gurmeet Singh Incharge Dharam Parchar Committee DGPC Jammu, Balvinder Singh, Tejinder Singh, Avtar Singh and Karan Singh Bali were also present during the Samagam.
