THANNAMANDI: Police on Monday foiled three bovine smuggling bids by rescuing 53 bovines and arresting three smugglers.
According to a report, a police team led by SHO Police Station Thanamandi Inspector Surinder Singh Khadyal on a specific information laid a Naka at Phangai Nallah, Thanamandi. During Naka checking, police rescued 46 bovines and arrested one bovine smuggler namely Arshad Mehmood son of Khurishad Ahmed resident of Manyal Thanamandi.
A case vide FIR Nos. 48/2016, 49/2016, 50/2016 and 51/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Thanamandi.
Similarly: SHO Police Station Dharamsal Inspector Darshan Singh during intervening night of 24th -25th April 2016, on a specific information laid Naka at Chatta, Dharamsal. During Naka checking, police rescued five bovines, however smugglers fled away from the spot taking the advantage of darkness.
A case vide FIR No.30/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA was registered at Police Station Dharamsal and investigation is going on.
Meanwhile, acting on a specific information that some persons are on way along with bovines towards Kashmir without any legal permission, a police team led by Mohan Lal, Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi laid a Naka at Domel Pouni and rescued two bovines from the possession of two persons who were identified as Lal Hussain son of Mohd Aslam resident of Matyani Tehsil Triayath District Rajouri and Mohd Sayed son of Mohd Rashid resident of Tredu Tehsil Triyath District Rajouri. Both the accused persons were arrested and a case vide FIR No. 20/2016 under section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Pouni.
