Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir recorded 501 COVID-19 cases in a day taking the infection tally on Saturday to 1,12,757, while 12 more fatalities during the same period pushed the death toll to 1,742, officials said.
Of the fresh cases, 267 were from the Jammu division and 234 from the Kashmir division, they said, adding Jammu district recorded the highest 147 cases, followed by 92 in Srinagar district.
The number of active cases in the Union Territory stood at 5,009 as 469 patients recuperated from the infection. With this, the total number of recoveries so far stood at 1,06,006, officials said.
Among the 12 fatalities reported in a day, six were from Jammu and the rest from the Kashmir region, they said.
According to the daily Media Bulletin, out of 1,12,757 positive cases, 5,009 are Active Positive, 1,06,006 have recovered and 1,742 have died; 617 in Jammu division and 1,125 in Kashmir division.
The Bulletin further said that out of 31,48,894 test results available, 30,36,137 samples have been tested as negative till December 5, 2020.
Till date 80,4,184 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,185 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 5,009 in isolation and 31,134 in home surveillance. Besides, 7,46,114 persons have completed their surveillance period.
Providing district-wise breakup, the Bulletin said that Srinagar has 23,591 positive cases (including 92 cases reported today) with 1,187 Active Positive, 21,978 recovered (including 84 cases recovered today), 426deaths; Baramulla has 7,563 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 209 Active Positive, 7,191 recovered (including 32 cases recovered today),163deaths; Pulwama reported 5,181 positive cases (including 22 case reported today) with 160 active positive cases, 4,935 recovered (including 20 cases recovered today), 86 deaths; Kulgam has 2,612 positive cases (including 04 case reported today) with 63 Active Positive, 2,498 recoveries (including 02 cases recovered today), 51 deaths; Shopian has 2,378 positive cases (including 10 case reported today) with 77 Active Positive, 2,264 recovered (including 14 cases recovered today) and 37 deaths; Anantnag district has 4,603 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 127 Active Positive, 4,396 recovered (including 04cases recovered today), 80 deaths; Budgam has 7,085 positive cases (including 40 cases reported today) with 285 Active Positive and 6,697 recovered (including 25 cases recovered today), 103 deaths; Kupwara has 5,262 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 217 Active Positive, 4,960 recovered (including 16 cases recovered today), 85 deaths; Bandipora has 4,481 positive cases (including 13 cases reported today) with 130 Active Positive, 4,296 recovered (including 11 cases recovered today), 55 deaths and Ganderbal has 4,272 positive cases (including 11 cases reported today) with 171 active positive cases, 4,062 recoveries (including 18 cases recovered today) and 39 deaths.
Similarly, Jammu has 21,297 positive cases (including 147 cases reported today) with 782 active positive cases, 20,201 recoveries (including 141 cases recovered today), 314 deaths; Rajouri has 3,579 positive cases (including 06 cases reported today) with 197 active positive cases, 3,332 recovered (including 10 cases recovered today), 50 deaths; Ramban has 1,988 positive cases (including 12 cases reported today) with 93 active positive, 1,875 recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today) and 20 deaths; Kathua has 2,867 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 94 Active positive, 2,731 recovered (including 07 cases recovered today), 42 deaths; Udhampur has 3,779 positive cases (including 34 cases reported today) with 453 active positive cases, 3,275 recovered (including 31 cases recovered today) and 51 deaths; Samba has 2,545 positive cases (including 10 cases reported today) with 216 Active Positive, 2,296 recoveries and 33 deaths; Doda has 3,192 positive cases (including 16 cases reported today) with 169 active positive cases, 2,966 recoveries (including 14 cases recovered today), 57 deaths; Poonch has 2,404 positive cases (including 02cases reported today) with 49 active positive, 2,333 recoveries (including 04 cases recovered today), 22 deaths; Reasi has 1,516 positive cases with 96 active positive, 1,411 recoveries and 09 deaths while Kishtwar has 2,562 positive cases (including 18 cases reported today) with 234 active positive cases and 2,309 recoveries (including 22 cases recovered today) and 19 deaths.
