500 NCC cadets take part in annual training camp

JAMMU: National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets of various schools and colleges of Jammu and Udhampur participated in Annual training Camp at Nagrota from 28th May to 6th June 2015.
The training camp was headed by Camp Commandant Lt Col Monisha SRS, Officiating Commanding Officer of 2 J and K Battalion.
Due to popularity of NCC among the students, as many as 500 Cadets participated of both Senior and Junior division/Wing.
The cadets also got trained for International Day Yoga to be held on 21 June 2015 by trained yoga instructor of AYUSH. It was also headed by Lt Col Monisha.
The cadets displayed their talents in form of martial arts, Dogri dance, Ladakhi dance and also addressed social issues like drug abuse in form of skit.
The Chief Guest, Col H.S Gill gave away certificates and gifts to cadets who excelled in Best Drill, Best Firer, Best in Yoga and Best Cadets in various other competitions.
The Chief Guest spoke to the cadets on the relevance of NCC in the life of students and emphasized the importance of developing character, leadership qualities and comradeship amongst each other.
