50 per cent hike in JKAACL’s fee structure approved

JAMMU: Finance Committee of J and K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages approved enhancement of existing fee structure by 50 per cent across all categories barring drama where the fee was raised by 100 percentage points.
Giving details, Secretary, JKAACL, Dr Aziz Hajini said that the hike will be prospective. “This will come into force prospectively,” he said.
“Interestingly, under various categories in the field of drama the existing fee has been enhanced from the present Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000. Production cost too has been increased from the current rate of Rs 15,000 to Rs 30,000,” he added.
“After formal vetting of the decision the new fee structure will come into force,” Hajini announced, adding, the existing sitting fee of members of
various committees which was currently Rs 300 per sitting has also been raised to Rs 1000.
Pertinently, this was the first meeting of the newly constituted finance committee of JKAACL
which also elected Principal Secretary to HCM (Financial Commissioner), B.B Vyas as its Chairman.
“Apart from revising the fee structure, the committee also elected Principal Secretary to HCM as its chairman under Article 18 (b) of JKAACL Constitution,” the Secretary JKAACL informed.
Others who were present in the meeting include Commissioner /Secretary Finance, Navin K. Choudhary, Writer and former Director General Accounts and Treasuries, Wali Mohammed Bhat (Aseer), Secretary Culture, Dishad Khan (special invitee) besides Secretary Academy, Dr Aziz Hajini, who is also the member secretary of the finance committee.
