SAMBA: Police on Thursday foiled a bovine smuggling bid by rescuing five bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
According to a report, a party of Police Station Ghagwal headed by Inspector Sanjeev Chib laid a Naka on NHW Jatwal and signaled to stop a vehicle. On seeing the Police Naka driver of the vehicle a Tata Mobile without number fled from the spot leaving the vehicle behind.
During checking, the vehicle was found loaded with five bovines which were being transported illegally without permission, which has been seized and a case FIR No. 80/2014 section 188 RPC, 2/3 PC Act was registered at Police Station Ghagwal and investigation started.
The Naka was laid under the direct supervision of Anil Magotra, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Samba and V.P Singh, Dy. SP HQ, Samba
