4th Eid-Diwali-Christmas Cup Khalsa Club, KC Sports, Jammu Police XI register wins

JAMMU: Khalsa Club, KC Sports Club and Jammu Police XI registered emphatic wins to stay alive in the Fourth Eid Diwali Christmas Twenty20 Cricket Cup for students and youths of the State, which is being played at Parade Ground, here on Saturday.
In the first match, Khalsa Club defeated Singh Cricket Club by seven wickets. Batting first, Singh Cricket XI scored 126 runs in stipulated 16 overs for eight wickets with Chandan (69) and Pankaj (21) being the main scorers. Amarpreet and Nitin took two wickets each while KK, Mannu and Vishal took one each for Khalsa Cricket Club.
Khalsa Cricket Club, in reply, achieved the target in 15.3 overs by losing three wickets only thus won the match by seven wickets. Harpreet and Vivek were the main scorers with 38 and 32 runs respectively, while Lucky contributed 21 runs. Sunil took two wickets and Sourav took one. Harpreet was adjudged Man of the Match.
In the second match, KC Sports Club scripted a thrilling win against All Greens Club. Batting first, All Greens Cricket Club scored 113 runs for eight wickets in allotted 16 overs game with Bafar (25) and Azar (17) being main scorers. Shubam and Vivek took two wickets each, while Ramandeep, Abhishant and Arjun shared apiece each from KC Sports XI.
Later, KC Sports Club chased the target in 10.2 over of the game by losing two wickets. Suransh top scored with 61 runs and Ateef made 39 runs for the team. Naveed took one wicket. Suransh was adjudged Man of the Match.
In another match, Jammu Police XI defeated ICC XI by seven wickets. Batting first, ICC XI Scored 90 runs for the lost of all wickets in allotted 16 overs. Samad and Nipun were the main batsmen who scored 29 and 26 runs respectively. Aman Sharma took four wickets, Rajesh Gill and Shamsher Singh bagged two wickets each while Ishtiaq took one wicket for Jammu Police XI.
In reply, Jammu Police XI chased the target in 12.1 overs by losing only three wickets. Ishtiaq, Khalid and Farooq were the main scorers who made 31, 19 and 17 runs respectively for Police team. Santbaksh and Monnu shared one wicket each for ICC XI. Aman Sharma was declared Man of the Match.
Today’s matches were officiated by Sandeep Manchanda, R.P Singh, Vinod, Sunil Sambyal and Danny.
Earlier, Member BCCI, Ranjeet Kalra, who was Special Guest in today’s matches, interacted with the teams. While speaking on the occasion he conveyed his best wishes to the participating players for their best performance in the tournament. He appreciated the Organising Secretary Rajesh Gill for conducting the cricket tournament regularly for the youths and student of the State.
The tournament in which 24 teams are participating is being organised jointly by Jammu and Kashmir Police Department, Simula Sports Club, Atman Sports Club and Christian Sports Organisation.
