42,000 to appear in police recruitment written exam

JAMMU: Elaborate arrangements have been made for the smooth and transparent conduct of written test for the recruitment of 4,000 Constables in Jammu and Kashmir Police. The written test is being conducted by Police Recruitment Board (PRB) on 20th March 2016 (Sunday) in all the districts across the State.
The was disclosed by the Chairman, Police Recruitment Board, L. Mohanti, while chairing a meeting of senior police officers and members of the PRB held at Armed Police Headquarters here on Wednesday. During the meeting, threadbare discussions were held to finalise the arrangements for smooth conduct of the written test at all the examination centres in the State. Mohanti said around 42,000 candidates both male and female who have qualified the physical endurance test are participating in the written examination. The written test will be OMR-based with multiple choice questions of 10th standard which shall be of two hours duration from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM.
Mohanti further said that copies of the question booklets and answer key will be uploaded on J and K Police website, after the examination is over. The final selection of the candidates will be made strictly as per the merit obtained by them in the written test. The whole process is being video-graphed, which is based on latest technology, without human interference and being conducted for the first time in J and K in such a transparent manner.
