40 bags of ration seized, two held in Samba
Jammu: Police have arrested two persons and seized forty bags of government ration from Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The police seized 40 bags of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) ration while it was being offloaded at a private mill in Ghagwal area of the district, a police spokesman said.
Acting on specific information, a police party raided the premises of the private rice mill belonging to one Satpal and seized the vehicle along with ration of CAPD, he said.
“The 40 bags of flour were meant for public of Jatwal area, dealer Vijay Kumar and driver Sudesh Kumar have been arrested and a case registered against them,” the spokesman said.
An inquiry has been initiated by the Minister of CAPD Choudhary Zulfikar Ali.
Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) Ghagwal Ashish Goswami and storekeeper concerned have been attached till the inquiry is completed, he said.
