4 of family drown in Nallah at Udhampur; LG expresses grief

Jammu: Four members of a family drowned in a nallah in Udhampur district on Friday, officials said.
Four people, including children, who had gone to fetch water and grass for their cattle fell in a nallah at Chattrari village of tehsil Ramnagar and drowned in it, they said.
The deceased have been identified as Nishu Devi (16), Anju Devi (22), Yash Pal (24) and Meenakshi (12). Their bodies have been recovered, they added.
“The loss of young lives in an unfortunate incident due to drowning in Ramnagar tehsil of Udhampur is extremely heartbreaking. In this time of grief, my thoughts are with the bereaved families. Directed district administration to provide all necessary assistance to the families” LG Manoj Sinha wrote on tweeter.
