Police on Friday arrested four drug peddlers and recovered 2068 intoxicating capsules and brown sugar from their possession.
According to a report, under operation Sanjeevni, a police team of Police Station Janipur led by SHO R S Bhau while on Naka duty at Mandir Morh stopped one Parshotam Singh alias Kala son of Rattan Singh resident of Bantalab for checking. On his personal search, police recovered 2068 intoxicative capsules from his possession. A case against the above named drug paddler under relevant section of Law was registered at Police Station Janipur.
Meanwhile, acting on a tip off, Awantipora Police headed by SHO Police Station Awantipora laid a Naka at Main Chowk Awantipora. During checking, a vehicle bearing registration number JK13C-6168 was intercepted.
On checking 11.5 grams of brown sugar was recovered from the vehicle. Three persons Muzaffar Ahmad Wani son of Mushtaq Ahmad, resident of Khanmooh, Ashiq Hussain Dar son of Abdul Razaq, resident of Khanmooh and Mohammad Shafi Sheikh son of Abdul Rashid, resident of Sathpakhrean who were boarding the vehicle were arrested.
Police registered a case FIR number 49/2016 under Section 8/21-29 NDPS Act and started investigation in this regard.
