BILLAWAR: Police on Thursday foiled a bovine smuggling by rescuing four bovines from the clutches of smugglers.
According to report, a party of Police Station Billawar acting on specific information, laid a Naka at Pinther, Dhar Road and intercepted one truck bearing registration No. PB 10E/8327 driven by Mohd Farooq son of Ab. Hamid resident of Mandli and his associate namely Ab. Hamid son of Ad. Ahad resident of Mandli.
On seeing the Naka party driver of the vehicle and his associate managed to flee leaving behind the vehicle. During checking of the vehicle, police rescued four bovines which were being transported from J and K State to Punjab illegally. Police has launched a man hunt to nab the accused.
A case under FIR No. 116/2014 section 188 RPC, 3 PC Act was registered at Police Station Billawar against the arrested accused. Investigation of the case is in progress.
