JAMMU: Guru Nanak Cricket (GNC) XI and Samar Cricket XI registered win and enters in the next round of ongoing Third Christmas T20 Cricket Cup for College Students and Cricketers at Parade Cricket Ground, here on Monday.
SP City, S.K. Chouhan was the Chief Guest in today’s matches who was introduced with the participating teams.
Earlier, in the first match GNC XI defeated Eleven Star XI by eight wickets.
Batting first, Eleven Star XI scored 116 runs in stipulated 20 overs for loss of six wickets, with Zaimat Ali (24 ) and Irshad (21 ) was the main scorers. Rahul and Azar took two wickets each whereas Rahil and Aman shared one for GNC XI.
Guru Nank Cricket XI, in reply, achieved the target in 13.5 overs for two wickets thus won the match by 8 wickets. Rahul scored 54 runs and Gagan made 36 runs.
For Eleven Star XI, Irshad took two wickets. Rahul was declared Man of the Match.
In the second match, Samar XI scripted a comfortable win against Trikuta Cricket XI.
Batting first, Samar XI made a huge total of 192 runs in 20 overs for eight wickets with Jagan (78 ), Chotu (68 ) and Deepak (13 ) were the main scorers.
Kavi took three wickets, Makhan and Surjeet shared two wickets each while Rupinder took one for Trikuta Cricket XI.
In reply, Trikuta could not achieve the target and was bundled out for 147 in 20 overs with Arun (39), J.P (25) and Bablu (23) were the main scorers. Amar, Chetan and Jagan took two wickets each while Deepak took one for Samar XI. Jagan was adjudged Man of the Match.
The matches were officiated by Sadiq Hussain, Suhail Yusuf, Sandeep, Vinod and Farooq.
